| Description |
Overall Job Summary
Generate sales of equine products by calling on veterinary clinics who may be existing customers or potential leads in the assigned region and providing ongoing customer education and support.
Specific Accountabilities

Achieve sales targets as assigned

Identify sales prospects and contact these accounts

Informs/educates customers (current and prospective) in use of company products

Establish an annual territory plan with input from Sales Manager
-
Attends conferences as agreed to with Sales Manager
-
Maintains customer database
-
Represents Bioniche at sponsored wet labs/short courses as may be necessary
-
Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.

Coordinate with Sales Manager to strengthen University Relationships

Works closely with distribution partners to achieve sales targets
Education, Work Experience & Competencies
-
University degree or college diploma, preferably in animal science or agriculture
-
Must have demonstrated successful, “hands on” sales experience in pharmaceutical or animal health related field (minimum 5 years)
-
Equine experience essential

Must have strong interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and oral) skills
-
Must have above average ability to learn products and the business

Must be a self-starter with superior time management and territory management skills

Must have the ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of Production Animal business
-
Must possess business acumen
-
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Working Conditions
The position will require a significant level of travel throughout the year and direct calls on accounts. Works largely unsupervised, s/he must be a self starter, well motivated, organized, comfortable with long periods of time in an automobile and cognizant of the need to provide meaningful, clear, information to office personnel.
